HISTORY

The Rettenmaier family In 1973 Château La Tour Figeac was purchased from François Rapin by the Rettenmaier family, industrials from Heilbronn, south-west Germany. Since 1994 their son Otto Maximilian Rettenmaier (born in 1962, qualified with a Diploma in business at the University of Mannheim, Germany) is managing the estate.

GEOGRAPHY

Within the Saint-Emilion appellation, right bank side, near Bordeaux. Separated from Château Figeac in 1879 and further split into La Tour du Pin Figeac and La Tour Figeac two years later, the domaine lies between Château Cheval Blanc to the East and Château Figeac in the South as well as the Pomerol appellation to the West, on the “Graves de Saint-Emilion”.

THE TEAM

Consultant for oenology and viticulture is Julien Lavenu, partner of the team of Stéphane Derenoncourt (who also advises, amongst others, at Clos Fourtet and Talbot). Since 2015, Pierre Blois as joined the “La Tour Figeac” team, as general manager, to orchestrate the life on the estate.
