It was in 1735 that our ancestor, Barthélémy PETIT, a winegrower on the slopes of the Juine at Chalo Saint Mrs in Ile de France, handed down to posterity his taste for wine. In is grandfather Fernand’s cellar and at the family table, François PETIT learnt how to appreciate the wine from our terroirs.

A hard-working farmhand in Rosay in Eure-et-Loir, he always nurtured his love of wine and the vine.

He spent twenty years visiting vineyards, making then shelving plans, until finally on a spring day in 1998 his insight led him to create Tournefeuille in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation area.

Then Emeric PETIT, his wine-loving son, took over the estate.

They all bring a new vision to wine-growing, without abandoning their country roots, expérience and their values, which could be summed up in the phrase: Tournefeuille wine is the fruit of patience and equilibrium”.

VIGNOBLES TOURNEFEUILLE, Owner 5 estates:

  • Château Tournefeuille, Lalande de Pomerol
  • Rosalcy, Lalande de Pomerol
  • Château La Reverence, St Emilion Grand Cru
  • Jean Voisin, Montagne St Emilion
  • Château L’Ecuyer, Pomerol

Château TOURNEFEUILLE is situated in the commune of Néac within the sound of the Church bells. Its vines cover 15 hectares forming one entity around the château, fermenting room and wine store. But what makes this estate special is the magnificent slopes on which it is perched, affording a wonderful view.

Lit up in the afternoon by the hot sun of the south and bathed in orange light at sunset, it dominates the Barbanne valley. This river gently meanders between Pomerol and Néac, forming the hold border separating the former English and French seigneuries.

Today it separates the seigneuries of Pomerol and Lalande, offering a splendid view of the Pétrus plateau.

It is not only the landscape and its history that seduce, but also the terroir. Planted on the gritty and clay soils typical of the Pomerol region, and with a southwest exposure, the Merlot and Cabernet franc grapes ripen in ideal conditions.
